"A bursary is a good way to lighten the financial load."
In 2005, Wendy Carriere established a bursary in her name which is awarded each year to a student in Theology. An active member of the Anglican Church and a Huron University College Foundation Trustee who is also a former executive with Lawson Mardon Packaging and the Richard Ivey School of Business, Wendy says she established a bursary because she cares about the future of Huron students who wish to pursue a career in the ministry or lay profession.
"The quality of Huron's theology program is outstanding," Wendy says. "I believe in what Huron is doing and the calibre of students in the theology program. It is a huge personal sacrifice to do the theology program because ministry work is not high-paying and a bursary is a good way to lighten the financial load."
